We just got back from the prestigious AI Summit in San Francisco, the world’s largest conference on the practical implications of AI for corporate organizations. The summit brought together some of the world’s leading experts in Artificial Intelligence and the companies that are at the forefront of the 4th industrial revolution.
Voyager Labs’ AI Technology: Distilling Actionable Insights
Voyager Labs was proud to take part and showcase its unique technology which enables organizations to distill previously unattainable insights relevant to their core business. The company does this by connecting what seems like random and inconsequential interactions and online human behaviors to reveal actionable information. Voyager Labs’ CTO, Jay Klein had the honor of taking part in the event Panel, where he weighed in on the pragmatic, practical, and measurable ROI from AI; “It is not AI that needs to be measured, but instead, it is the business case success metrics that are key. If your business managed to increase traffic, revenue, conversions or any other key performance goals at the core of the organization, then the AI capabilities utilized by the enterprise were successful in doing their job” said Jay.
The Use of AI in Robotic Process Automation & Other Trends
Anywhere you looked around the show floor, it was clear that AI is already transforming a whole swath of industries like automotive, healthcare, retail, consulting and financial services to name a few. One of the most significant trends evident in the summit was the use of AI in Robotic Process Automation (RPA) in which software handles high-volume, repeatable tasks that previously required a human to perform. Presenters demonstrated how tasks such as recruiting have now been automated to streamline the job interview funnel and increase the chances of hiring the right candidates. Another repeatable task, Manufacturing Quality Control (QC), is also being transformed using computer vision and deep learning models that can correctly identify parts that were not properly assembled.
The Convergence of AI, Big Data, IoT & Cloud Computing
In a keynote address, the legendary Tom Siebel explained how the convergence of AI, Big Data, Internet of Things (IoT) and Cloud Computing are leading to digital transformation across the enterprise. The new class of AI-driven enterprise software applications are changing the way entire value chains are managed and how product and services are designed and delivered.
There was also exciting news regarding the development and availability of Machine Learning and Cognitive Computing platforms. Intel presented their Saffron Cognitive Solution which combines information extraction with knowledge representation to mimic human reasoning and make confident decisions. Google showed how the growing application of Machine Learning within their business has led to the development of platforms that are automating the design and training of models.
The conference was a non-stop flow of training sessions, workshops and a lot of enthusiasm around AI-based technology.
Leaving the summit, there is a palpable sense that Artificial Intelligence is a proven technology that is ready for business. We are entering an exciting new era in which automation capabilities, previously unattainable, are now within our reach and are bound to transform the enterprise forever.
